Location Used

Shire Hill

After looking at several locations, we decided to use Shire Hill, also known as Shire Brook. We loved this location as it is an easy walk and surrounded by wood. Although the hill is mainly wooded, the base of the hill is open fields making long shots easy and effective. We were able to capture shots of the hill to set the scene along with close ups of the wooded area. A mix of tree height and size gave a beautifully creepy depth to our shots. The scattered natural lighting made it a joy to edit and film whilst on the hill.

With many dips and fallen trees on the floor, high angle shots and low angle shots were made easy. With a relatively litter free floor the wood had an uninhabited feel to it. As the opening shots are mostly of myself running, easy treading was needed for health and safety. Any dangerous looking areas were not used to film. Any harmful litter was moved or avoided when filming.
